A visual meditation ...Gregory Colbert is a film-maker and photographer best known as the creator of Ashes and Snow, an exhibition of photographic artworks and films housed in the Nomadic Museum.
His work is the most moving and endearing that I have ever seen. Ever since I first found out about Ashes and Snow a few years ago, many of the images remain with me, imprinted in my mind. I find myself regularly revisiting the online collection to 're-connect'.
A moving tapestry of visual imagery .. amazing, vibrating and touching beauty .. the mood evoked in all his work is very meditative and I highly recommend the amazingly unique online experience..

The most recent installation (the fifth) was in Mexico City in 2008. Seen as ongoing project the installation bring together photographic work (more than 50 large-scale artworks), film (a 60-minute feature film and two short film haikus), art installations and a novel in letters. To date, more than ten million people around the world have visited the exhibition.
The snow will open next in Brazil in 2009.
