Tiger Woods is currently on the green just down the road from me (The Presidents Cup in Melbourne). There are loads of buses, courtesy cars, and official vehicles moving around our normally quiet suburban streets .. and the sun is shining its very best.
Reminded me of a recent article I had read about an iPhone App that was designed to ‘Improve Your Golf Mind’ using visualization and meditation.
The creator of the App once played against Tiger Woods and was astounded by Tiger’s mental edge on the green, “I could never figure out how he could remain so calm under pressure.”
He later found this quote by Tiger, “My mother’s a Buddhist. In Buddhism, if you want to achieve enlightenment, you have to do it through meditation and self-improvement through the mind. That’s something she passed on to me: to be able to calm myself down and use my mind as my main asset.”
So all you golfer’s out there ... are you meditating?
